Stockport, United Kingdom - Systems integration specialist Hima-Sella is pleased to announce that we have been awarded a contract from Bombardier Transportation for the supply of 59 off Tracklink III readers and software development of a new SIL2 protocol interface along with SIL2 software development for the function of AC/DC auto-changeover. In addition to this functionality the Tracklink III readers will also be used for Selective Door Opening (SDO) and Correct Side Door Enabling (CSDE).
The equipment will be fitted to 45 x 4 car Class 710 EMU trains (also known as LOTRAIN) and will be operational on the London Overground network. The trains will be delivered in two sub-classes; an AC only version for use on the West Anglia and Romford-Upminster services, and a dual-voltage version for the Watford DC and GOBLIN services. The dual voltage version will be fitted with 2 off Tracklink III readers to carry out the functionality of SDO, CSDE and AC/DC auto-changeover.
The AC/DC auto-changeover function is used to raise/lower pantographs and raise/lower shoe gear as the train goes from an AC traction area to a DC traction area and vice versa.
