Hima –Sella announces with great sadness the passing of Mike Hall after a short illness.
Safety specialist Hima – Sella pays tribute to employee Mike Hall, who sadly passed away on 15th October 2015. Mike – who was a valuable member of the Process Safety sales team – had recently secured 3 major contracts for the business both in the UK and overseas and was working towards securing another contract.
Andy Tonge, Sales Manager of Hima-Sella comments: “It was a great pleasure to have worked with Mike for over 12 years; he was a truly remarkable person. We spent many an evening in hotels around the world discussing subjects from; work, physics, diets, astronomy, politics and sport. He would have an opinion on them all as he would have a great deal of knowledge on the subjects. “
Mike was a distinguished and supportive colleague. He used his vast experience in a professional manor, always striving to do his job to the best of his ability. If he wasn’t familiar or didn’t understand how something worked, he would investigate the subject in great detail in order to gain an in-depth understanding. He would then pass on this knowledge to clients and colleagues; this was one of his best assets. You could always rely on Mike as he would take nothing for granted and would check with diligence and verify everything.
Mike had recently been awarded a TUV Certificate for Functional Safety having attended a 4 day training course followed by a 4 hour examination; of course Mike passed it with flying colours.
There are many people who will miss Mike, as well as his close family. He was an active member of the Local Amateur Radio Society often passing his knowledge onto other members and giving presentations and training lectures, he also did voluntary work for the Local Hospital Radio. Always helping others, even to the end, Mike had arranged for his organs to be donated to help others. As a donor Mike was able to help a gentleman in his 60’s, a gentleman in his 40’s and a lady in her 60’s, all doing well and grateful for Mike’s donation.
He also had great interest in Trains and Planes especially supporting the Vulcan to the Sky Trust.
Mike’s funeral was held on Tuesday 27th October. He will be sadly missed by his family, friends and work colleagues. A true gentleman to the end.
